Francesca Bourgault

Francesca Bourgault grew up dancing until finding her passion for lighting design through the help of her mentor at Western Michigan University. She moved to Chicago in 2009 and enjoyed (not) being seen with The Moving Architects, Esoteric Dance Project, The Knot, Thodos Dance Chicago and as technical director at Links Hall. Francesca’s lighting for Commissura by choreographer Julia Rae Antonick was listed on the Top Lighting Designs for Dance: 2011 in Review by Time Out Chicago.

Ready to start a family and take a break from big city life, Francesca moved to Brattleboro with her wife in 2013. She quickly found her way into collaborating with every arts organization in town. Francesca is excited to be a part of the NEYT family as the Associate Technical Director. When not designing lights and sound for theater, she can be found teaching dance around town, especially tap and burlesque, choreographing for musicals, selling apparel and footwear through her shop, Windham Movement Apparel at Brattleboro School of Dance, and spending time with her delightful wife and daughter.
