Glendon Mayo Amphitheatre

NEYT invites you to join us in supporting our new Glendon Mayo Outdoor Theatre project, which is replacing the old Livery Building and will be the latest addition to NEYT’s Flat Street Arts Campus.

After extensive coordination with the Town of Brattleboro, Windham Regional Commission, and the Environmental Protection Agency, the old wooden Livery Building facing Elm Street has been torn down and will be replaced with a multi-functional outdoor classroom and amphitheater, scheduled to open as summer 2018 programs commence.

The new amphitheatre and outdoor classroom will provide much-needed additional teaching and performance space for our expanding programs, especially during our busy summer months.

Be a Permanent Part of Our New Theatre

NEYT offers you permanent sponsorship and naming opportunities at various levels to help us complete this project.

The new Glendon Mayo amphitheater and outdoor garden classroom will provide shaded seating. Sponsoring a shade tree will be $500, and will be recognized by a bronze or granite plaque at the base of each tree.

Contact Katrina Spenceman (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) at NEYT for more details, including the types of trees that will be included in amphitheater.

Granite benches will provide relaxed seating along the walkways and among the trees. Benches may be sponsored with engraving at $600 per bench for up to 25 characters, with sponsors paying for any additional engraving.  While the final vendor has not yet been selected, a possible example of the granite benches is shown below.

The Amphitheater also includes tiered seating on smoothed granite blocks, each of which will be engraved as with a sponsor’s message.  This presents the opportunity for a longer dedication or message. Costs for granite blocks begin at $400. Final cost will be determined based on the length of the engraved dedication.

In keeping with NEYT’s commitment of inclusiveness, an opportunity to be a permanent part of the project is available at a lower cost.  The walkway into the classroom and amphitheater area will include donation paving bricks at a cost of $100 or $150, depending on the size of the brick.

You could, for instance, put a student’s name or family name; a message of gratitude for teachers or staff; the actor’s name, character played, and production; or the student’s name and year of NEYT graduation.  The choice is yours. To order a brick, visit:
