Kara Manson earned her B.A. in Theater Arts from Brandeis University, and now works in Boston as a professional actor. She has worked with several companies including Zeitgeist Stage Company, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Company One, Shakespeare Now!, Independent Drama Society, Bad Habit Productions and The Nora Theatre Company. She has trained with the American Theatre Wing in New York City and the Berkshire Theatre Festival in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. For her work as Claire in "Proof," Kara received a 2010 IRNE nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She is a proud Equity Membership Candidate.
Kara worked with the New England Youth Theater from 1999-2004. She helped move NEYT into its first permanent home on Main Street, cleaning out the space for the green room and painting the house walls black. She traveled with Stephen, Peter, and the cast of "King Lear" to England, where NEYT set the foundations for an exchange with David Vann's theater in Birmingham. In January 2011, Kara assisted Stephen at the Gifft Hill School residency in St. John, USVI. Favorite roles at NEYT include: Rosalind (As You Like It), Helena (A Midsummer Night's Dream), Elizabeth Proctor (The Crucible), Suzanne (Picasso at the Lapin Agile), Goneril (King Lear), and Lady Macbeth (Macbeth).
