The Laramie...

THE LARAMIE CYCLE

On October 7, 1998, a young gay man was discovered bound to a fence outside Laramie, Wyoming, savagely beaten and left to die in an act of brutality and hate that shocked the nation. Matthew Shepard’s death became a national symbol of intolerance, but for the people of the town, the event was deeply personal. In the aftermath, Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project went to Laramie and conducted more than 200 interviews with its citizens. From the transcripts, the playwrights constructed an extraordinary chronicle of life in the town after the murder:  The Laramie Project, a modern classic which has become one of the most-performed theater pieces in America.

Jack and The Beanstalk Presented by The Woefully Underprepared Players
Written by
Marcel Freda
Directed by Marcel Freda, Doran Hamm, Shannon Ward and Danielle Sessler

What else can go wrong? No Actors, no props, no set, no costumes and 5 minutes until the curtain goes up. Can producer Callie Power and her rag tag team of volunteer stage hands put on a show good enough to save their beloved playhouse? It'll take a village to save this community theater!

Come see the amazing young people of NEYT's Town School Theater program on January 19th and 20th for three showings of their original comedy, "Jack and The Beanstalk Presented by The Woefully Underprepared Players."

Town School Theater is NEYTs free theater experience for children in grades 4-6 attending Brattleboro's town elementary schools. We will have another session happening in the spring of 2018. Don't miss this hilarious show!
