This groundbreaking 1957 musical by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim is a modern update of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.  West Side Story tells the story of how two lovers find each other despite the disapproval of friends and family. Set against a backdrop of racial tensions and gang warfare in New York City, West Side Story has become the classic American musical.
