November 18
Theatre Adventure Program Youth Show
Alice in Wonderland: Greatest Scenes
The Theatre Adventure Wednesday Afternoon Youth Troupe presents: Alice in Wonderland: Greatest Scenes” on Wednesday, November 18 at 4:30 pm at New England Youth Theatre. All tickets are $5 at the door. The show will be interpreted for the deaf and hard of hearing community. The theatre is wheelchair accessible.
Alice’s adventures in the nonsensical, topsy-turvy Wonderland will be a smorgasbord of theatrical surprises. Audiences will be carried into the fantasy world with an Alice-Dance that will spiral the audience into suspending all preconceived notions about “up is right and right is down.” Many animals will participate in a Caucus Race that seems to have no beginning, no end, and no winners. The Mad Tea Party will be a feast of words more than a feast of tea and crumpets. And what about the Brothers Caterpillar who insist Alice recite the “Father William” poem and end up entertaining Alice themselves? When Alice finds herself in the Queen of Heart’s garden, she becomes bold and faces off with the Queen. And finally, Alice’s adventures bring her to the seashore to hear a sad tale and to dance a lobster quadrille.
Theatre Adventure Program is for adults and youth with mixed abilities. It is a year-round program of New England Youth Theatre. We use theatre arts to help empower, strengthen, and embolden Troupe members as valued and contributing members of our community.
