“Aesop’s Fables” Friday, August 13 at 10:30 am
Green Street School, Brattleboro
$6.00 tickets available at the door

The Theatre Adventure Summer Troupe presents several of Aesop’s Fables set in a King’s Court during days of yore.  The King’s Court has known only days of ease and prosperity.  The Miller, Baker, Shepherd, Tailor, Weaver, and others have enjoyed years of friendly sharing of their wares and skills.  And yet, as our story unfolds, hard times have arrived and suddenly gestures of generosity, kindness, and cooperation are lost.

With the Bard’s help, the members of the Court become actors bringing to life some lessons of Aesop’s Fables. Will the Grasshoppers learn that there is a time to play and a time to work?  Will it be possible for the Lion to recognize the strength and power of a Mouse, and, that anyone can become a friend?  And how about the North Wind who knows only how to use bluster and force?  And lastly, will the Hare learn that perseverance and determination always succeed?

These timeless morals of Aesop’s Fables help guide the King’s Court to return to the days when all was well.  That is, to a time when everyone has an important occupation and is valued for their contribution to the life of the Court. Come and witness the ageless power of stories to inspire the well-being of individuals and villages.

Disabilities become possibilities in Theatre Adventure Program.  Students of many abilities work together as a Troupe to create a theatre production that is artistic, inventive, and imaginative.
