NEYT’s Development Director Receives Grant from Vermont Arts Council to Attend Fundraising Conference

BRATTLEBORO—New England Youth Theatre’s Development Director Carlotta Cuerdon received a grant from the Vermont Arts Council’s Travel and Technical Assistance grant program (partially funded by the National Endowment for the Arts) to attend the Northern New England Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Annual Conference held November 5-7 in Dixville Notch, NH.
    The first day’s all-day workshop called “The Academy” focused on how to develop a planned giving program, including creating materials and getting the word out about charitable bequest options. Following workshops included how to start an advisory board to guide a planned giving program. With this training, Carlotta plans to implement a planned giving program at New England Youth Theatre.
    The Association of Fundraising Professionals is a prominent national fundraising organization. The three-day conference included workshops on a number of fundraising topics, keynote speeches by leaders in the fundraising field, and a Philanthropy Day awards ceremony.
