| Healthy Snack Program in NEYT's Future? Fellow NEYT parent, Diane Shamas, loves the idea of a healthy snack program to serve kids who are in the theatre for extended hours, and so do we! Diane is currently exploring some potential funding ideas and would like to know if there are other parents/volunteers who are interested in helping to create a sustainable model for the theatre. You can reach Diane at dshamas@hughes.net or at 802-387-5788.

| NEYT Alumna Follows Her Love For Theatre Jess Callahan was a relative latecomer to NEYT. At the age of 16 she saw the performance of Henry lV and, inspired, soon after became involved in shows. But, even when she wasn’t in a show, she says she pretty much lived at NEYT, helping backstage, stage managing, composing music and helping put together costumes.
Jess’ love for theatre led her to Boston University’s prestigious acting program, but she continued to return to Brattleboro over the summer to direct NEYT summer programs. After six months in India exploring an eastern approach to theatre, Jess went on to work in several Boston theatre companies. Now, back in Brattleboro Jess continues to stay involved in NEYT. She has directed and acted in alumni shows, and is leading NEYT’s Alumni Association. In her newest role as Volunteer Coordinator, Jess has launched "Volunteer Wednesdays." So, you can meet Jess (and her beautiful six month old baby) at NEYT every Wednesday from noon to 4:30.

| NEYT Reaches Annual Fund Goal!! Dear Friends,
It came down to the wire, but we did it! And a HUGE thank you goes out to all of you who gave so generously over this past year to NEYT’s 2008 Annual Fund. With the terrific response to the spring and fall appeals the Development Office is proud to announce that our goal of raising $50,000 for the Annual Fund has not only been reached but surpassed by over 5%!
The Annual Fund is a crucial part of NEYT’s income stream: tuition and ticket sales alone are not enough to cover the costs of running our programs. The donations that all of you give during the course of the year help bridge the gap and ensure NEYT’s financial health.
Thank you again for your support, from all of us at NEYT.
