Naomi Shafer

Naomi Shafer was in the audience of NEYT’s first-ever show. From there, she took classes and performed NEYT’s original theater on Main Street. Naomi graduated from Middlebury College with a B.A. in Sociology and Playwriting and Marlboro College with an M.B.A. in Conscious Business. Naomi completed a year-long residency at the Actors Theatre of Louisville as part of its Professional Apprenticeship/Internship program. Naomi has trained at Double Edge Theatre and the Clown Conservatory of San Francisco. Her plays have been produced by Middlebury College, PTP/NYC, and Actors Theatre of Louisville. Naomi is presently the Executive Director of Clowns Without Borders. She has taught at NEYT, and led clown workshops at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, University of Virginia - Charlottesville, Middlebury College, and for humanitarian aid workers in Haiti and Myanmar.
