Michelle Meima brings expertise in both administration and dramatic arts to NEYT. When her daughter, alumna Kristina, got the part of ‘Gretl’ in NEYT’s production of The Sound of Music in 2005, Michelle began to volunteer as a parent at the theater. This led a position as Office Manager and eventually, she became Managing Director and Director of Operations. Originally from Swindon in the southwest of England, Michelle grew up performing in choirs and community theaters. After high school, she started a retail banking career, leading to a position as a branch manager in the London suburb of Croydon. Crowned “Miss Croydon” in 1988, she changed course and went to work for Swedish resorts company Sunwing, where she performed as a member of their entertainment company at resort hotels in Spain and Greece. As she was launching an independent singing career in the UK, events conspired to move her to Sweden, where she lived for ten years, worked in university admin jobs, and started a family. Since 2003, she has lived in Brattleboro, where she and her husband are raising four children. Along the way, Michelle has served on several boards of educational and youth non-profits. Michelle speaks Swedish as well as her native English.
