Monika Grist Weiner
Monika Grist Weiner grew up in Brattleboro and started costuming with Sandy Klein when she was 15 years old. Monika received her BFA in costume design at Savannah College of Art and Design in 2013 and has worked as a stitcher and a dresser at the Weston Playhouse and at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. She is currently teaching and designing costumes in New Orleans, where she enjoys the rich music and dance scene, and relishes being the oddball seamstress among her sea of musician pals. She has recently been involved in film and performance projects that are focused on some elemental moments of African American history in New Orleans. Monika Monika values her ties to NEYT by making the pilgrimage back to work with her NEYT family every summer.
