New England Youth Theatre Brings Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women to Life This Holiday Season

This holiday season, New England Youth Theatre presents Louisa May Alcott’s timeless tale of family love and perseverance: Little Women, adapted by Marisha Chamberlain and directed by NEYT’s Artistic Director, Ben Stockman. The four March sisters and their mother Marmee face new hardships when Mr. March leaves home to serve as a Union chaplain in the U.S. Civil War. Having lost their family’s fortune, their deep affection for one another, innate hopefulness, and inner spark of creativity are all they have to carry them through.

Performing this beloved semi-autographical work will be NEYT’s Senior Company of local youth actors, aged 14-19. In the process of rehearsing Little Women and other mainstage NEYT shows, the Senior Company works with expert teaching artists to produce onstage stories of the highest caliber while prioritizing the kind of trust- and community-building that only theatrical collaboration can create. Previous Senior Company shows at NEYT include Summer 2025’s productions of Twelfth Night and Chicago.

Little Women will feature costume design by Sandy Klein, set design by David Regan, lights and sound by Francesca Bourgault, and will be run by a tech, stage management, and costume crew of NEYT students. As it does every year, NEYT promises a Holiday Show to make hearts full and spirits high!
