This program offers a more intensive and rigorous theatre experience for our senior company students. This is a three-week immersion program exploring a literary classic. Participants ages 13-19 are given the support they need to develop their skill with language, voice, and physical story-telling as they rehearse a fully produced play. In this camp, performers will create a character from the inside out while exploring drag as a powerful performance tool. Through costume, makeup, staging, and collaboration, participants will develop and perform original acts while examining how playing with gender can challenge stereotypes and inspire bold storytelling. NEYT’s most popular summer program brings the merriment and madness of melodrama! Playing heroes, villains, and fools, students make big, bold, silly choices while building vocal, physical, and comedic skills through theater games, improv, and clowning. After two weeks of colorful costumes, slapstick, and student-driven ideas, the cast performs for an enthusiastic audience in true melodrama style. Learn More

This program offers a more intensive and rigorous musical theatre experience for our senior company students. This summer, participants will learn, rehearsal, and perform a complete musical, with the support needed to develop vocal, dance, and acting skills. Students of all abilities are welcome. Commedia is back! This original commedia-style play brings larger-than-life characters, physical comedy, music, and theatrical mischief inspired by the classic Italian tradition. After opening at NEYT, the fast-paced half-hour show will tour local schools this fall. Learn More
